I did it!! 12km no problem!

Last Sunday (the second last one of our 10km clinic) I ran 12 kms in 92 minutes. I can't believe it!!! The clinic has been fantastic with us running 3 times a week and using the 10:1 method - we run for 10 minutes and then walk for 1 minute. I would not have believed that I could do this unless I had seen it with my own eyes. Since we are near the end of the clinic we are in the "over training" part - that is why we are running more than 10km.

I feel fantastic and have no pain or injuries. We are running (ok jogging) at a nice easy pace and not going crazy fast. I have met some great people that run with me - Lindsay is really fast so she goes with the fast group while I leave about 5-10 minutes earlier than the others and run with the Turtles (a group of people who go a little slower but we all finish at the same time). My buddy Sylvia (whose son I taught at Mac) is awesome and we have the same pace. Stacy, Roxie and now our friend Andrea have all been great to chug along with. We are pretty proud of our efforts and can't believe how well we are all doing.

Next step - I have signed up for the 1/2 marathon clinic starting next week - can you believe that I will running a 1/2 marathon on April 11th. The Running Room showed us that at the end of the 10km clinic you are running 13km so why not move to the 1/2 marathon in which you are only running another 9km - great point so we all joined.

Watch out here I come!
